To Market We Go | It Takes A Village

Some of the Village Runner crew on September 22, 2018 at the opening of the new Village Runner in Redondo.

I Really Love This Village

The Village Runner is very near and dear to my heart for so many reasons. It’s the place where I bought my first bikini {yes, this running store sold bikinis back in the day!} It employed my Chicago transplant crush who later became my husband. It has become one of my best clients. It is a place for me to buy running shoes and gear that affords me the luxury of heading out for a jog. It has given me friendships and a chosen family that are very important to me.

Not Just A Running Store

As you can tell, Village Runner is not just a retail shop. It is a community, a village, that has helped so many. They provide local races, are sponsors for many other races and school events, and have donated over $100,000 to local organizations.

And yet, they are a specialty running store. They have been in business for over 30 years, providing exceptional customer service and advice for runners and walkers alike. Each employee has a vast knowledge of the products and their own running experience to draw on, which they happily share with customers.

It Takes A Village

I know that plenty of you have your own stories to share about this special place and they need you more now than ever. They temporarily closed the doors to their Redondo and Manhattan Beach locations back in March and have since been doing everything they can to keep the South Bay community running. They recently launched an online store that offers free shipping, and if you are local, they will drive to your home and drop off your purchases safely.

Shopping small makes a huge impact for our local stores during these times and I know Village Runner would greatly appreciate anything you can do, whether that is spreading the word about them to your friends and on social media, purchasing an e-gift card or shopping online.
