Movin’ On Up

With all things in life, save for the scale and our age, we want to move in an upwards path. This is definitely the case when it comes to our business! A sure-fire way to analyze what direction you are going is doing monthly KPIs.

What are KPIs?

They are Key Performance Indicators - a quantifiable measure used to evaluate the success of your business, that can be customized however you like. Mine are set up within Google Sheets to track things such as revenue, hours worked, active clients, new clients, and newsletters sent with open and click rates. A great portion of my KPIs are comprised of metrics from Google Analytics.

Google Analytics is another essential and free tool that Google offers and one you should absolutely utilize. Once you set it up, it tracks countless items from your website like: sessions, users, page views, time on site, bounce rates, traffic - organic, direct, referral, social, just to name a few. It breaks down demographics of your website audience, how they are viewing your site, what pages they are viewing most. This is all valuable info for you to use and constantly tweak your website to see what works and what doesn’t.

I filled out the January 2020 KPIs for Taylor Digital Marketing and was pleased to see that ALL of my numbers had increased from December 2019! This is such a great and in your face way to see how your business is doing. As we know, numbers don’t lie.
